My Favorite Things – 10.13.20

You may have noticed, but Sweet Stuff is now #myfavoritethings.

It’s a phrase I consistently overuse and I can’t believe I didn’t think of it first.

Monday articles are all about My Favorite Things. Whether it’s a great story I read, my latest audiobook or a favorite new lipstick. I’ll be sharing it all here on Mondays!

Did you catch me on Prepford Wife’s blog last week? She did me the great honor of featuring me as a guest blogger and it was so fun! Go read for a gift from me this month!

Last week the audiobook I finished was The Wife Stalker by Liv Constantine. This was another psychological thriller, which I need a good palette cleanse from! I started Big Summer after this and it seems more lighthearted.

the wife stalker

The Wife Stalker is about a family that’s going through a rough patch due to Leo, the father’s, depression. The main character, Joanna, is trying to hold the family together and support Leo while he navigates a new case at his law firm. Leo seems to be really closed off and having a difficult time communicating, so she recommends he visits a meditation facility. While he’s there, he meets the owner, Piper. Piper and Leo start to spend a lot of time together, citing a professional relationship, which Joanna does not believe. She becomes suspicious and starts to check Leo’s emails. Before she can confront Leo, she gets a call that her mother has broken her leg and she rushes off to take care of her.

While she’s at her mother’s house, all of her belongings arrive at the house and she realizes Leo has kicked her out of the house without notice. She is absolutely livid. She feels betrayed and wants an explanation. Leo really doesn’t give her a clear explanation but just states that it’s time to end their relationship. Joanna’s main concern is that he wants to keep the kids from her. She starts to speak with a lawyer to fight Leo’s decision and spends a lot of time with her therapist, but things are not going in her favor.

I won’t get too much more into it, or it’ll take too much time, but I recommend listening to it! It takes a seriously unbelievable plot twist. Click here to find it on Amazon.

I am fawning all over this puzzle from Kiel James Patrick. The perfect fall scene.

This is such a good deal on this sparkling water. I used it in the mocktail recipes last week.

Have you watched Emily In Paris? We had a super in depth conversation on my instagram stories this weekend! Everyone had such different points of view. Let me know if you’ve watched it and what you thought!

I LOVE SNL and the spoof of the VP debates was hilarious. If I can’t laugh at our current political climate, I’ll cry tbh.

This article on Rebecca’s blog is so helpful whilst looking for antique French dishware.

Check out my friend, Amanda’s article about how Coronavirus will change travel.

Have you tried out the Curateur box from Rachel Zoe? I’m thinking about it, but would love to hear opinions.

My friend, Valerie, is basically famous after her Etsy design was on the news!

I tried Tessemae’s Lemon Garlic dressing this weekend on a baby kale & mozz salad and it was so fresh and light. Loved it.

My Favorite Beauty Products

mask proof lipstick

I read this article on Glamour over the weekend about the best staying lipsticks for wearing under your face masks. Immediately ordered this!

I’m trying out this Mario Badescu Cleansing Milk. I love their products and they’re so affordable.

Also started using this body wash last month and I’m impressed! Really helps with ingrown hairs if you wax.

My Favorite Purchases & Pretty Things

gold rings

I’ve got my eye on these gold rings on Etsy.

This Cuyana bag looks like a great crossbody for fall. If you’re looking for a fall bag, check out my Neutral Bags for Fall article.

Work from home is the perfect opportunity for a new jardigan. I picked this up over the weekend from MM LaFleur. Can’t wait to use it over casual dresses and feel a little more put together.
